Thrush - Anahuac NWR - Texas Gulf Coast - 4-19-21

Recommended Posts

There are various types of thrushes / veery's migrating through at the moment. Seeing some Swainson's but this appeared duller, slightly grayish, and without the more defined eye ring seen on Swainson's. I am assuming it is a Swainson's but Gray-cheeked also being reported at same site. Would appreciate any guidance or confirmation on this sighting. Thank you!

maybe not full maturity

No way to tell; besides, immatures don't really have any different color or tone to their plumage; some first-cycle birds retain one or a few juvenile greater coverts (which this bird lacks), which is about the only feature that can indicate any age
