Victor D
Canada. BC. Coquitlam. Colony Farm tonight. As I understand it is unusual to see this bird around, but there were many people trying to get pictures and they name it as Sage Thrasher
PaulK
It looks like every major birder in the region went to see the poor thing today, including the eBird reviewer. There are a good dozen reports today. I think it's safe to say it's confirmed! Edited to add that your pictures are better than most of the ones posted on the rare bird alert. Very nice! AlexHenry
The bird that probably looks most similar to a Sage Thrasher is a Northern Mockingbird; Northern Mockingbirds have much more white in the wings and tail, and don’t have the distinct streaking on the underparts.

Thanks! It's just the online view! It's worth doing that way as you can see the details of the posts (text and photos) as well, and can also sort by species, date, or location (not that the location-based sort makes sense without an added ctrl+f search to get to the specific site). It's also more or less instantaneous (+1 hour). I just have it bookmarked on my phone, and occasionally scroll through and sigh about the fun birds I don't have time to go and see.
