The Bird Nuts
The best way to learn bird songs and calls is to find the bird making the sound. Start with the birds in your backyard or local park and make sure to watch them closely while they call or sing. A lot of trails don't allow people to step off the trail, so they're probably not the best places to learn.

My approach to learning birds has been a methodical and timely process of learning different types of birds. When I was learning warblers, I would spend a lot of time playing through the different songs. Some of them were pretty easy to remember, but once I heard it, I had trouble remembering the correct species. Once I saw the bird making the sound, it then stuck in my mind.
