This incredibly confuses me. It has a 'flaring' supercilium and less dense breast streaking, which are traits I associate with LOWA. But then it has streaking on the throat, which I associate with NOWA. Is a hybrid possible?

I think that the throat streaking is one of those features that has significant variation, like the yellow wash, so it should be the sole factor in IDing the bird.

You mean “so it should not  be the sole factor” ??

oops. yes, that's what I mean. However, I have only seen one of each, and one was singing, so I am not an expert at all in this example.
