Dan P
Taken on 5-14-2021 just before sunset in a residential backyard, Glendale, CA. I can't tell if this is a Bullock's or Hooded Oriole. There was an adult male Hooded Oriole seen about 30 minutes before.
Aidan B
I'm pretty sure this is Hooded, but weirdly I don't have much experience with IDing female Orioles that I can't hear calling, so wait for another opinion. 1
dimitrig
Almost certainly Hooded, especially if the male was spotted. They seem to often travel in pairs. Bullock's would also have more distinct wing bars and Hooded is more yellow underneath like this bird. 3
Tony Leukering
Female BUOR typically have an extensive gray belly patch... as noted in the various good field guides. 2
