heme42
This pic would have been much better if I'd gotten the wing tips in the frame. Black-bellied plover from April of this year showing the dark "armpits".

Clip
Definitely not photos that win any awards but cool for a couple of reasons. This Great-horned Owl nest is in a lone tree between two major highways in Denver, CO. When I pulled off to snap a few photos the first thing I noticed was the constant roar of the traffic going by. So a very strange place for any bird to want to nest. But, in the Colorado eastern plains good nesting places are not always easy to come by. The photo does also show how close it is to the Rocky Mtn. Arsenal NWR which you would think would make a better choice for nesting. Last but not least it shows just how lightly colored Great-horned Owls can be in the West. Edited June 18, 2021 by Clip
Clip
Again not a great photo but a cool photo as it has both Anhinga and a Snail Kite in one shot.
heme42
Looking back at some old photos from when I knew little about cameras, so not a great pic. Was taken from quite a distance and I didn't see the RW blackbird until I downloaded the photo. RW blackbird harassing a northern harrier. Taken in Glacier NP several years ago.

I usually just give up! If I had a dime for every spider/web I couldn't get my camera to focus on, especially here in Florida, I would be a rich rich women. Gry
This osprey is a little grainy, but considering how high and fast it was flying, I was still pretty happy with this photo.

Clip
One of my favorite things to have witnessed is this Snowy Egret Manatee surfing in the St. John's River in Florida. As the Manatee ate the greens it stirred up edibles for the Egret. The only problem is the Manatee showed it's head very few times during this encounter and then only for a split second so I was unable to ever get a shot of the Manatees head/face. I took a bunch of photos but none show the head/face of the Manatee. Very cool experience seeing this. Sad I couldn't quite get that perfect shot. 2-2019

Clip
Definitely not a great photo and I did get better of the bird on this day but this one actually shows the best how the American Woodcock's eyes are situated to see what is behind it. Included a better photo just because from the same day. The last photo is from a year later when the bird returned to winter in the same location and is an even better photo.
