Victor D
Canada. BC. Coquitlam Lafarge Lake 8:30 pm tonight. Lots of Mallards and Mallard/Domestic crosses. But this female one is way darker than others... Usually all crosses have white spots on a chest area, not a case with this duck Any comments? Aaron
Maybe a melanistic mallard? Probably with domestic genes, but I assume it’d occur in the wild population in some form. Not all domestics show white patches, but this duck does seem to have a few bits of white here and there.
