SteveS
Took this today, 2 Jul 2021 in a Las Vegas backyard Based on the beak and black coloring, I would guess house sparrow, but I've never seen one with this orange-ish tint. Can anyone verify what it is? Thanks Steve
The Bird Nuts
It is a young House Sparrow. I wonder if it's melanistic.

Quiscalus quiscula
Feet look quite large as well, but house sparrow looks to be the only option with that clear breast and overall impression. Melanistic birds are extremely rare, but it looks as if this could be one.
