Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

A couple of counties over from me. Also, I don't think that's going to work.

I was driving along and looking out the window when I saw this beautiful great egret sitting on top of a tree preening it's feathers.  So I quickly turned around and then turned around again so the bird was on my side of the car.  I stuck the camera out the window just as it had it's beautiful feathers spread out!  Snap, snap, snap - this was going to be a beautify shot.  30 miles down the road I went to look at the picture and what did I find?  "there is no card in the slot".   ANYWAY - that would have been my best shot of the day!

Ack! I hate when that happens.  I think most digital cameras come with a small memory base that can be used if you don't have a memory card...have you checked it to see if there are any photos on it. ?

There should also be a setting that won't allow the camera to shoot without a card present....

I have an Olympus camera and if the on-board memory is full and there is not a memory card in the slot then my camera has a warning chime, the screen shows ''memory full''  and will not take a photo. Otherwise, if the on-board memory is not full and the memory card is not in the slot then my camera will take photos until the memory space is full. ?

I finally found a Field Sparrow about two weeks ago after about a year of searching (definitely need to improve my skills!!).

Now one of my many favourite birds - they just seem so dainty, subtle, low key - not sure what it is, maybe just cute.

Came across another one today.

Today my wife called that there is a male Painted Bunting in the front yard.  I hurried to get my camera, but was afraid to open the storm glass door so not to scare the bunting.  This pic was shot through the glass door so the sharpness is seriously diminished, but the colors did come out well.

Earlier in the year we followed a nest of Bluebirds in a box on our backyard fence.  I was fortunate to get several good pics of both male and female feeding the babies in the box.  About a week ago they left and this morning they were in the oak tree in our front yard.  Here is a pic of the group of baby Bluebirds.
