Cerulean Warbler

From a couple days ago - Mourning Dove carrying nesting material: And a Cedar Waxwing:

Pied Billed Grebe struggling with a fish I didn't think was going to make it down it's throat.  Took about 10 minutes, but it proved me wrong!   https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/317620821#_ga=2.

A hard sought after lifer for me! My third visit to this spot, and I walked the trail in its entirety three times today. After three visits, I've completed the (realistic) VT Boreal Forest Checklist of birds, with Black-backed Woodpecker and Boreal Chickadee on the first visit, Spruce Grouse and Black-backed on the second, and now the CANADA JAY!!!

Yay!    They're like big, balding chickadees! 🤣  We still don't have Boreal Chickadee.  But Moose Bog is almost as far as Boston is from here.

You might have more luck climbing a nearby mountain to get a Boreal Chickadee. They’re irrupting this year! I tried for one at Spruce Mountain, where a Black-backed Woodpecker had been heard by a birding friend, who had also gotten Boreal Chickadee a month beforehand. And yeah, two hours is the longest drive I’ve done yet  to look for a bird, any farther and it would have to be a pretty rare bird 😂
