Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Photo taken in Miami-Dade County, FL. Egyptian Goose and Indian Peafowl. Crandon Park where these photos were taken is the sight of an old Zoo and these birds have been fruitful and multiplied and are countable on your life list. Not to mention fun to photograph. The Peafowl was being a bit of bully and would not let the goose pass. If the peafowl was protecting something we didn't see it.

I tried but the 2nd photo won't go away! It only shows 1 in edit mode.

Just a thought but what if you delete all images while in edit mode and then copy the two desired (larger) photos from the original post and paste them into the edited message and then save. Just a thought that may, or may not, be worth two cents.

I don't understand how I could do that; I have to open the original post to edit it, so once I delete the images they wouldn't be avaialble to copy and paste back in???

By the way - I didn't want to do too much experimenting, since I'd much rather leave the extra photo than accidentally delete one of the photos!

I didn't think it'd be complicated, I had imagined two browser tabs being opened in Whatbird, one showing the original post and one with your edit window. Deleting the images in the edit window post won't delete the images in the original post until you hit save but you'd copy and paste them before doing that. I think it would work, but like you said, better safe than sorry.

@Aveschapines  One of @roadcykler's images is embedded from imgur.com while the other was uploaded directly to the forum (apparently accidentally).

OK thanks! I was deleting the second photo (in order of appearance) but the linked one still showed in edit mode. So I deleted the first one instead and it worked ?

AAAAH OK! I didn't think of using two tabs, but thank you! And yes the primary thing was not to risk completely deleting the photo. But the Bird Nuts gave me a hint that led to the solution so we're OK now.
