Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

How big were the Whopping Cranes you saw? :classic_tongue:

I tell you though, I saw Sandhill Cranes for the second time ever today, and a much better look at that, and I forgot how big they are (the greater subspecies group that is). They’re huge!

Cool!  The one I saw was so far away, but I could compare it with the nearby GBHEs, and they looked about the same size.

Cooper's Hawk , Mojave Desert. This is another photo from 2 days ago when the hawk landed on my fence. I heard him fly in when all the other birds scattered. I grabbed my camera and walked right out the back door. He was not even 20 feet away and surprisingly he didn't fly away like you would expect. He just stood there. This just doesn't happen with Hawks around here.....very strange !
