Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

This is probably the strangest picture I've ever taken.  It looks like something is splattered all over the lens but it's just reeds that are starting to grow just above the water.  The osprey just caught a catfish.

Osprey catfish 2 (1 of 1)

Looks like its raining worms

How the heck did you get so close to one???

The closest someone has got to one is like 100+ feet!

I dunno, I guess maybe they’re tamer in Florida or something? I got within 15ft of this guy and several dozen of his buddies! And within 20 ft of an Iceland gull ?

And to be clear, I wasn’t harassing them or anything, most were happily preening throughout the duration or just resting. Unlike a couple other beachgoers who purposely flushed the flock several times after I had started walking back.
