Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Although very common here, nuthatches are one of my favorites! I love to watch them effortlessly glide up and down the trunk and hang upside down on the branches to get some food. Yesterday they gave me a really good show and let me approach them very closely; I guess they were too busy looking for food ?

The closer you get to water here, by the river you see lots of tree swallows with some Barn mixed in. But the ratio is more like 5 barn to 50 tree.

I’ve never seen a Tree Swallow away from water here in KS.

Actually just saw two Tree Swallows coursing high in the air above my backyard yesterday. Maybe because it's a bit greener and wetter here than Kansas, which looks a little drier and slightly more brown-tinged from satellite images.

Depends on what part of the state you’re in.

Yeah, I guess Kansas is sort of stereotyped that way. Like especially from the Wizard of Oz! Like when you say that you're from New York, and everyone immediately thinks of the bustling city. We upstaters sort of look down on those 'city people' !

Fairly. We're about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Springfield, MA. Not in a border county to any state.

Ah, I was gonna ask if you've been to the Fort Edward Grasslands, but that might be a bit far for you.
