I'm going to treat this as a serious question.  My pictures from travel abroad were taken with a Panasonic Lumix. A camera with 20-1200 zoom and 18 MP, Leica glass lens. This "travel camera" costs about $300 and takes excellent photos. Regardless of what you learn with a camera, learn everything you can about the focus system. Sharp pictures are pictures that are in focus. I have written and published a wildlife book on wildlife in the Cascades. In the USA I I have top of the line Nikon equipment that is capable of capturing birds in flight. The Lumix won't do that. My Nikon setup weighs about 8 pounds, the Lumix weighs about 8 ounces. That is a compromise that limits what pictures I can take traveling, but my suitcase isn't full of lenses and cameras either. The mega-zoom lens does work for getting "close" to wildlife. Also, having good software to process pictures is important. I use Photoshop and On1 Photo Raw to process pictures. Lastly, take lots of pictures, especially with cameras that will shoot many frames per second. The Lumix shoots 9 shots a second. My Nikon shoots 10. Keep the good ones and chuck the bad ones. Have fun!

I’m in this camp right now, so I can sympathize.  I guess it’s just a combination of good gear ($$$) and LOTS of practice.
