I saw some lifers today!  A Roseate Spoonbill and a Green Heron.  Here's the spoonbill with a fish.  No idea why it was in Phoenix; it was the only one, and apparently it's been hanging out there this year.

This a great bird. Where did you see it. I have only seen one in Colorado. They are rare there.

This is an African Weaverbird.  Related to the finch family.  One of my favorites because of its elaborate nest building.  I included a picture of the nest.  The male attracts the female during mating season by hanging upside from the nest, fluttering its wings and calling.

Vancouver, Canada. Lots of them about but infrequent enough that they're still exciting to see.
