Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Finally got some good finch shots in my yard!
my 70d and sigma 150-600 mm contemporary have been performing great together, considering the light has been awful . @Birding Boy @Seanbirds

next week I’ll be actually going birding with the lens for the first time, most of the shots I’ve posted so far with it have been in my yard.

I was chasing birds at the Uxmal Mayan site and I saw a Motmot along the edge of a wooded area, but almost immediately it flew deeper into the woods.  I swung by that area about 45 minutes later and was standing at one spot scanning the trees, when I heard a faint mewing sound behind me.  I turned and this Motmot was perched on a branch about 15 feet away, checking me out.  It sat there for several minutes and I took a bunch of photos of it.  Most of the photos were great, it would have been difficult to select one as the best, so I’m posting three.  I’m not sure what the bird was doing in the third photo, but it’s a funny shot.

Those are great, especially the LEGO. Nice composition and colors. Have fun with your setup next week!

Thanks! I’m enjoying it so far! The focus limiters really help the AF to not hunt that much. Definitely take advantage of them. The lighting hasn’t been good lately, so most of my shots so far are from high iso, slow shutter speed. I’ll try Birds inflight next week.

big tip: the sharpness is better if you stop down to f/8, or even higher, if the light allows.
