But, I’ve found that with this lens, you can get sharper shots if you go to f/8, or even f/9. 2

Maybe tomorrow I’ll find some cooperative subjects to work with.

Thanks! This bird is super cooperative. It's stays in the open and doesn't really move for like a minute at a time.

Clip
The only bird I photographed yesterday. In our backyard while taking a break from cleaning the house. We had one Chipping Sparrow at the feeder during this time frame who did not move at all. It didn't even move after the hawk left for over 10 minutes. I finally went back inside and the Chipping Sparrow was till frozen in place.

smskelton
One of the powerful things about taking pictures is the memories and stories that go with them. Hiking yesterday, I came across several Northern Mockingbirds. I can't pass a mockingbird without thinking of the line by Harper Lee in "To Kill a Mocking bird" by Atticus Finch to Scout "Remember, It's a sin to kill a Mockingbird". Scout asks her teacher what it means and she says: "'Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy…but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird." Yesterday I was taking pictures of a mockingbird sitting at the top of a tree, using a pretty high shutter speed and two finches flew in for a visit.
