Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Is that the same "program" that left the "h" out of when?  :classic_laugh:  I suggest putting photos on a separate line from any text with a full blank line separating text from photo and/or photo from text. Trying to put photos and text on the same line can cause the "program" to put the photo right in the middle of the text sometimes. ?

When I needed to have something typed accurately, I told my secretary to do it.  I can't to that now that I'm retired.  But, I'll try leaving a space after text in the future, because the program does mangle text and pictures, and there doesn't seem to be any way to go back and fix it.

Were you able to get over to Hosmer Grove? That's where I had the best success with honeycreepers when I visited Maui in 2015.

Yea, went yesterday on the way up to Haleakalā. I was able to get all 4 of the expected honeycreepers, although none of my pics are good. They move around quickly and were hard to catch in the open with decent light. Didn't help that we were there in the late morning, but at least I got to see them all.

If only I could've gotten on one of the exclusive Waikamoi Preserve hikes for Maui Parrotbill and Akohekohe too.

When I went I was scheduled to be on one of those hikes, but it was canceled the day before we were supposed to go because of traffic when they were building the observatory on the top of Haleakala. Those would've been cool birds to see.

Not my best picture, but I do like how this one turned out.

Even though it’s a four star for me, I really love those artistic photos. I’m looking more into those types of shots and those that show more habitat. That’s really cool. The only reason I give them fours is that the whole bird isn’t showing and/or the bird is usually small in the frame, but if it’s sharp I’ll give it a four.

btw, your song sparrow photo on ebird is great!

Muscovies like to hang around the outdoor dining area of a local barbeque joint for obvious reasons.  God, the duck on the left is HUGE!

they probably shouldn't unless they want to be on the menu ?
