African White-backed vulture.  This is an endangered species.  We saw these at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre in South Africa.  They are endangered because poachers kill them for food, and natives kill them for their body parts to make traditional medicine.  The Centre piles the carcasses of the animals they feed to the carnivores in a big pit and the birds can fly in and eat safely.  It is not the most pleasant smelling place to visit.
