First time ever seeing a Least Bittern, and he was surprisingly cooperative :) Managed to get a couple of decent shots, even though the light was behind him.

They flushed pretty easily at first but then @Birding Boy and I found them and were able to approach them nicely. They just sat there and posed for us. @Birding Boywas really nice and shared his camera. We were crouched swapping memory cards. Haha I got my feet wet because we were partly in water.....but who cares. Great photos and close birds. If you go the checklist @Birding Boygot some nice ones too.

I saw those shots. Funny how different terns can be…at a hotspot here, the FOTE come and land on the walkbridge within Inches of you sometimes.

The terns vary on how close they let you get at Bay City State Park. They usually let you get fairly close, but they looks we got were amazing. I wish they come that close here haha.
