Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

@Aidan Bhow do your photos get rated so quickly?? It’s already up in the top photos. I don’t think I’ve ever had one get up there within an hour of posting.

I have no clue. Getting the photos up so quickly has almost never happened to me. Less than five times for sure.  I think I caught it at a good time (Only five ratings were required to get it up there an hour ago), and I rated my photos once, I got a few ratings from here, and I'd assume one or two of the local birders rated them as well.

Yeah, it takes a really long time for my photos to get 5 or 6 ratings. I completely understand everything else.

No fair! That looks like a Sora is just hanging out in someone's backyard.

Lol! This area is in a city owned wetland with mowed nature trails that run along the edge of the marsh. Rails would sometimes run along the path or cross over it. Here's a shot of a Virginia Rail that I also took. I was always concerned that the mowing would scare away the rails but for the past few years they've always returned. Thankfully, not many people visit the area.

Just back from a long drive (Pennsylvania to San Diego and back) with stops in some great birding areas.  I am working through tons of pics.  I'll post some of my favorites over the next few days.  Here is one to start.  I assume this is a rather colorful Anna's, maybe one of you west coast folks can correct me if I have that wrong.  Picture was taken at Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon, Arizona.
