I don’t think I’ve ever had one get up there within an hour of posting. I have no clue. Getting the photos up so quickly has almost never happened to me. Less than five times for sure. I think I caught it at a good time (Only five ratings were required to get it up there an hour ago), and I rated my photos once, I got a few ratings from here, and I'd assume one or two of the local birders rated them as well.

Yeah, it takes a really long time for my photos to get 5 or 6 ratings. I completely understand everything else.

This area is in a city owned wetland with mowed nature trails that run along the edge of the marsh. Rails would sometimes run along the path or cross over it. Here's a shot of a Virginia Rail that I also took. I was always concerned that the mowing would scare away the rails but for the past few years they've always returned. Thankfully, not many people visit the area.

Jim W
Just back from a long drive (Pennsylvania to San Diego and back) with stops in some great birding areas. I am working through tons of pics. I'll post some of my favorites over the next few days. Here is one to start. I assume this is a rather colorful Anna's, maybe one of you west coast folks can correct me if I have that wrong. Picture was taken at Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon, Arizona.
