Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Another from my cross country drive...

I travel a lot, but this was the first time I ran another whatbird member.   At least I think I did.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this @Seanbirds?  I saw him several times during my 5 days in the Rio Grande Valley.  Every time I saw him, I yelled "Yo! Seanbirds!".  But all he would do is squawk at me and fly away.

This particular picture of Sean was taken at Estero Llano Grande State Park.

I am a HUGE advocate of birding retention ponds.

Not sure the context of your reply.  I saw this Great Egret while I was traversing the length of a section of a canal which is a great birding spot.  Can't be certain whether it's the same bird, but lately I've seen a Great Egret in the exact spot every trip.

Here in South Florida, the canal systems connect thousands of lakes, both public and residential.  Most, if not all bodies of water here all basically one HUGE system, and the environment is welcoming to lots of wildlife, including an abundance of birds and bird species.
