Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

I’d give that a three. The photo is fairly hazy(for a lack of a better word), the bird is rather small in the frame, and isn’t that sharp(missing fine detail).

Definitely not. 
 

The mockingbird photo has great lighting, with the all the bird being very clear and sharp, while the vulture shot has a shadow over much of the bird, hence less detail can be seen. In fact, in some of the darker areas on the vulture, there is zero detail. The bird is way bigger in the frame in the mockingbird shot, and it has a better pose. Additionally, the mockingbird shot is tack sharp, with zero motion blur. The TUVU shot has some motion blur on the head caused by camera shake, hence less obvious crisp sharpness.

It's amazing that the young bird (?) can be as big as the parent and still be fed.  I wonder what the final piece of the puzzle is before young birds can gather food on their own.  Just experience?

Muscovy ducks have weird genetics, which results in some ducklings coming out different colors than others from the same batch.
