Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Central Lexington County, central SC.  13 Nov 22.

The female is my 'first of season' Ring-necked Duck.  The two males are from a different spot a couple of hours later.  I'm pretty sure I didn't see any last year.

It was a good day for FOS birds, including Hooded Merganser, Cedar Waxwing, Field Sparrow, and American Kestrel.  There were also a half-dozen Northern Flickers on the ground in an area maybe 30 feet across, franticly poking in the damp soil.

Ty - I corrected the observation before I got busted by a reviewer.  I'm just starting to learn these birds I see at the beach, and made the mistake of relying on Merlin for the ID.

I would advise not listening to Merlin on gulls…
