Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

@TexasCobraNice pics and birds!! However, this thread is for “your best photo of the day”. I know that some of us post photos here from past days or even multiple photos, but that’s usually limited to 2 photos at once. I think it’s fine if you post 2-3 photos a day in this thread, but please put the rest somewhere else, like this thread:

I had not posted in this thread before.  I am now caught up with the best of my pics.  I will comply in the future.

Have you reported it to ebird? That is a really rare find!

I did not find that I reported this bird to ebird.  I have now done so and attached the photo I took.

This bird was identified by viewers of the whatbird.com website. It appeared at one of my birdfeeders in my backyard located in Central Texas Comal County at zip 78070. I was not previously aware of the bird's rarity in my area. You will find a photo I took on Nov. 8, 2017 at https://www.flickr.com/photos/124304610@N07/38269451031/in/album-72157682869365141/

Were you able to add the photo to eBird as well?

Awesome shot of this Woodcock in the open and not hiding in a pile of wet, brown leaves!

Agreed! I think the photo could look even more amazing if @pictakerwould add a little more contrast.

The photo is no longer in my library of images.  However,  I did post it on flickr at the link I indicated.

Maybe in the comments on the ebird checklist, put the link to the flickr page with the photo.

I think its fine the way it is, remember, everyones eyes are different, some see different colors, depth and contrast, I edit for my own eyes not others....

100% true! It can also vary based on your computer screen.

03/19/23 just south of the Alberta Saskatchewan border. Snow buntings (2) with horned larks. I have read that non-breeding adults can be residents as far south as Wyoming.
