Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

This Black Bellied Whistling Duck has a broken lower jaw. Didn't seem to both him/her. Flew off after I got the shots.  Taken at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach FL on May 30 2023.

I braved the near 100F temperatures to visit Phoenix today! Two questions: in the first question, is that a juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron? I saw a pair of adult male and female Night Herons later that day, so I wonder if this was their kid.

In the second photo, does this Hummer have a bent lower bill? It could close it a bit more than shown, but never seemed to close completely.

1) An adult Least Bittern.  I'm a bit surprised there's habitat for them and the night-herons in the Phoenix area.

2) Yes.

That's a really good photo of a Least Bittern! They are super skittish!

Thanks, both of you! The Bittern flew off pretty quickly. Here are the Night Herons. As it turns out, it's an adult and juvenile. I wish the lighting was better, but I was at this park near midday.
