Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Best photo of a Least Bittern to date. We probably never would have seen it except that it was singing. None of us had ever heard one before and we all thought we were looking for an owl. My husband actually saw it vocalize. Then later I looked up the song on Merlin and sure enough their song sounds very owl like. At least to our ears with none in our small group being very good with sound id. Okefnokee Wildlife Refuge in GA.

I actually live in north Florida. My husband and I live about an hour from Okefenokee NWR. We spent yesterday there but have returned home. A meet up sounds fun but I'm afraid I am not the best birding companion these days as my back will only allow me to walk a max of 1/2 mile or so these days.

Green Cay is awesome! I have visited there a couple of times. It is an overnight trip for us or I would visit more.

It's 3 miles from my house.  Wakodahatchee is even closer at 1.5 miles.  Love them both!

Next time you're in the area let me know.

A pair of Scissortail Flycatchers is nesting in a tree just outside our back yard.  Unless you are lucky, they are well hidden in the nest.  Here is one pic with a 600mm +1.4 extender just catching a glimpse of the female on the nest.

Probably one of my favorite shots from my Henslow's Sparrow encounter a few weeks ago; finally getting this in before a big thunder storm coming through knocks out our power or something.
