An early migrant Tricolored Blackbird...a surprisingly difficult species to get good photos of, in my experience. Also, with their noted decline, I always feel lucky to be looking at even one.

I STILL need them! Hopefully I’ll be able to pick them up this fall/winter. Not an easy bird in the SoCal area, there’s a few reliable sites in riverside county though. Along the coast and especially in OC, they’re quite rare.
