Share Your Best Photo of the Day

Message added by aveschapinas,

Folks: it's not OK to take other people's photos to edit and re-post. Just like we don't correct each other's spelling and grammar, we don't take it upon ourselves to decide that someone's photo needs correction. In addition, as has been emphasized before, you need to respect copyright.

Nice list, especially the Red-cockaded Woodpecker, presumably uncommon/rare?

Rare and protected.  Donnelley has known colonies and marked nest trees.  Two of them played tag around us for several minutes, usually 30 to 40 feet up, before departing.  The preferred habitat is open long-leaf pines, so visibility is good once you spot them.

We were on a walk run by SC Wildlife Federation as a fund raiser and part of their Master Birder certification program.

Nice list! Your last vesper sparrow photo is actually a Savannah. The first two photos are beeper.

Thanks!  I must have mixed them up when attaching.

What's a beeper?

Nice!  Did you get that on Forest Hill Blvd?  Is it in a shopping center?

Yes - 10280 Forest Hill Blvd.  Th same road as The Mall at Wellington green - between Olive Garden and Walgreens.
