Last ID - saw all these gulls in Anchorage a few days ago. Not sure what they are; I'm bad at gull IDs. There were a lot of gulls flying around downtown and calling.

Roughly speaking, eBird taxonomy follows the Clements Checklist (a global bird taxonomy), which updates once a year in late summer/autumn. eBird will then match their taxonomy to match the Clements Checklist in their annual update. It doesn't happen overnight. You likely won't see Short-billed Gull referred to in eBird until next year's update (2022).

Just to be clear, regardless of what we call it, we're agreed QQ has correctly Identified the bird?

Interesting. So now I'm QQ? I guess I shouldn't have chosen such a long name, but I don't mind the shortening. It sounds alright. Anyway, this would be my first correct gull identification on whatbird.
