It does structurally look decent for Philly, (pretty round and cute), but some Warbling Vireos can give this impression. The throat is too whitish, the cap does not contrast enough with the back, and the face pattern is not strong enough. Keep in mind also there are differences between Eastern and Western Warbling Vireos, I believe Western birds have slightly larger bills on average, more whitish underparts, etc 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tony Leukering Posted July 16, 2021 Share Posted July 16, 2021 Tennessee Warblers have tiny, all-black, sharply-pointed bills. They also have bright green backs. It is not sufficient to find one or two field marks to make an ID.
