tricolored heron & solitary sandpiper

Recommended Posts

seen this morning in central nc

first pic: certainly an out-of-range bird, but this really looks like a tricolored heron (also a lifer! :D)

second and thirds pics: i saw a spotted sandpiper at this location for sure, then there was this one. it seems like a solitary, but i would like other opinions especially since i saw a spotted too.

thoughts?

We need to be more reliable around here. And no one even sniped me. Humbug!

@IKLland  It was a joke. Most of the time when I come on here and someone has post a bird to id, five minutes ago, and there is normally 12 post or something crazy.
