Quiscalus quiscula
Both the Barn Swallow and the Tree Swallow have been increasing in recent years, so I wanted to get an idea of the ratio of the two species in different areas. Please take the poll and comment.

Connor Cochrane
I have one record from my yard for each. Violet-green Swallows are common.
Seanbirds
@Quiscalus quiscula do you want the ratio (Barn vs Tree) from our yards?
floraphile
We only have Tree Swallows in Winter.
IKLland
I’d say we have about the same number of each here in OC. However, I’ll list our native swallow species in order from most common to least common. 1. By far, cliff swallow is our most common swallow. 2. NRWS. 3. Violet green swallow 4-5. Tree and barn. We have about the same amount of each 5. bank all of this is probably not a definite fact, it’s my experience.

I’ve seen way more cliff swallows than anything else here.
Kevin
We don't really have Tree Swallows... Barn are the most common, Cliff are the most numerous, and Tree, Bank, and Cave are rare. https://ebird.org/barchart?byr=1900&eyr=2021&bmo=1&emo=12&r=US-TX-363&spp=barswa,treswa,cliswa,cavswa,banswa Edited July 23, 2021 by Kevin
