Help with AZ water fowl.

Recommended Posts

I saw these birds in Phoenix, AZ this past week while on vacation. I'm from NJ, so to me, this looks like a double crested cormorant and an American coot. On E-bird, the only cormorants I see reported are neotropic cormorants, so I was hoping for some help...

Double-crested Cormorant: Yellow skin in front of the eye

American Coot.

Both Neotropic and Double-crested Cormorants were reported from Maricopa County (Phoenix's county) yesterday, according to eBird https://ebird.org/region/US-AZ-013?yr=all. As of right now, there are no sightings from today on that list. Neotropic is more common than Double-crested in July.
