Peromyscus
This morning I went to look for the one remaining Roseate Spoonbill near DC. It was hanging out in a tree with several Great Egrets and a Great Blue Heron.
Aaron
First snowfall yesterday brought with it my first northern shrike of the year this morning. He was hanging out with a bunch of Robins, really weird. Gadwalls went down from 21 to 8 due to the ponds freezing. Don’t know how much longer they’ll stick around.
Peromyscus
On my morning walk I heard a Winter Wren calling from a wooded stream type of area. This was my first of the autumn.

PaulK
On a wander in my neighbourhood this afternoon I saw hermit and varied thrush, white-throated, fox, and Lincoln's sparrows, and the ground was covered by a thick carpet of juncos.

Connor Cochrane
I'm finally starting to get some of the late winter migrants. Pipits are back in good numbers with Larks, a couple Lapland Longspur, Ferruginous Hawk, and Burrowing Owl (I had 4 yesterday). chipperatl
Quite the contrast today with FOS Dark-eyed Junco in my yard, and then I got notification of 4 FOY American Golden-Plovers in a flooded farm field. Took the 40" drive out there, and after 20 minutes finally located them.

meghann
Had a Ruby-crowned Kinglet at the banding station yesterday, along with LOTS of Palm Warblers. Think I heard Cedar Waxwings today in my yard.
Colton V
These last few days I had my first Varied Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Townsend’s Warbler and Fox Sparrow of the season.

If there’s one bird I would truly consider a nemesis it would be that one. I should be able to get it this winter though. You seem to be getting stuff a few days to a week later than I am. I've seen WTSP twice in the last two days, keep an eye on the mixed sparrow flocks!
IKLland
Lots of YRWAs arriving, and a Black throated gray warbler.

Peromyscus
I saw an Eastern Phoebe while fast-walking through a nearby park this afternoon (in Maryland). Also about 3 Chimney Swifts, 4 Common Green Darners, and what seemed to be a Swamp Darner. Edited October 13, 2021 by Peromyscus

Avery
The flock of warblers outside my dorm room is still here, including 3/4 of the Cape Mays. Plus, yesterday and today they were joined by a Wilson's Warbler!

Birding Boy
4 first of fall Fox Sparrows today. The warblers are getting sparse, and I'm sure the Northwest winds this week will clear a lot of them out, and should bring in some waterfowl/gulls. The sparrows are still hanging in there though.
