"western gull"  meaning gull of the west, as I did not capitalize it.  I would have typed "Western Gull" if I meant that species.  But, still usefull information to know

The only other truly “western gull” is a Heermann’s Gull, which this bird is decidedly not. Or perhaps a Short-billed Gull, which it isn’t either. CAGU all the way…the state bird of Utah to boot.
