Taken at dusk on 9-1-2021 at Hahamongna Watershed Park near JPL in La Canada-Flintridge, CA.

I would call this a Cassin's Kingbird, except the tail and/or wing feathers have me befuddled.

Edit: both images were lightened 25%

Haha didn't even notice that. Now that I look, the tail is super weird! New feathers growing in. Notice that the new feathers growing in have broad white tips, which is diagnostic for Cassin's Kingbird (Western and Tropical have no white tips at the end of the tail feathers - Eastern Kingbird does have a horizontal white band across the tips of the tail feathers as well, but it looks totally different in gerenal!
