I know I have seen at least 1 million Red-winged Blackbirds. Who says I'm counting species huh?

Okay my life list is over million then too. Add in 10s of thousands of Cackling Geese in the winter in Colorado and probably as many Ring-billed Gulls...One trip to Quivira NWR in Kansas boom another few thousand birds. Over a thousand Yellow-headed Blackbirds. Thousands of Red-winged Blackbirds....

Literally just got back from there right now. ?

I'm correct in saying it can have 1000s of birds right! Who knew there was a Salt Water Marsh in Kansas?!? Great place for migrating birds. There is cool furniture store near there in Great Bend, Kansas I really like because they employee people with learning disabilities.

So far, I've received 8 submissions but only 1 correct answer! Most are quite far off the base, so I'll provide a hint to help y'all along!

HINT: This is a habitat specialist species! Take a look at what's in the picture. The species is very dependent on certain plant species and the associated invertebrates that are found on them. Don't let its appearance fool you, it may be a very colorful species!
