jayD
I'm new here and am having trouble navigating the site. What is the topic of this thread? Doesn't someone have a weekly bird that people send photos in for? I am an old guy and not always savvy to all this, thanks Jay

You personally message @Liam, who generally runs this quiz, on what species you think the birds in the photos for the week are.

I could be mistaken about the details but I think the person with the most points gets a three-week guided tour of Antarctica, with expeditions in a heated SnowCat to an Emperor Penguin breeding colony, a submersible voyage to watch Gentoo Penguins diving for fish, and opportunities to hand-feed jaegers and skuas.

There is a topic/thread just like you described, where people are invited to share Your Best or Favorite Photo of a Bird Species. with a new bird chosen weekly. Even if you don't want to read hundreds of older comments, or hundreds of pages of comments before posting, reading the first post of a thread is always a good idea since the first post often has added details that the title might not include. Reading the most recent posts is always a good idea too as it will have the current theme of those changing topics. Look around the website and ask questions where needed, it won't take long to get the hang of things. It's called a ticket to Netflix for the relevant NatGeo film. As for the jaegers and skuas unless you're donating your hands for chum I think I'd rather keep my hands on the end of my arm where they belong.
