I've been looking through the unrated material and rating the overlooked photos. There's some really ... unusual ... stuff people attached to their checklists. One person has attached hundreds of handwritten field notes in what appears to be a left-handed script. They're challenging to read. Another has dozens of images of north Atlantic and European weather fronts. I can't figure out how conditions over that large an area are relevant to the checklists they're attached to. There's a slew of audio recordings of non-avian sounds left over from the days when Mac accepted those directly, including many labeled 'Environment'. Those sound like the person ran a recorder in the woods with the intent of capturing all sounds, not a particular critter.

I did this on a tablet, and I liked some things about it (i.e. being able to undo mistakes), but I think it also caused me to make some mistakes that I wouldn't have made on paper (i.e. drawing on the wrong layer). The background involved a lot of copying and pasting circles, which was a bit tedious, but I like the way it turned out. I may try something on real paper next, to see what I like better. If other people have made black and white images, I'm still intrigued by the idea of a coloring book.

Colton V
We’ve started a digital art unit with iPad Pros in my art class at school. I’ve never done digital art before so there’s a lot of technical stuff I need to figure out with the software, and I actually found it to be pretty frustrating. I definitely prefer pencil and paper! Today’s assignment was to draw my most prized possession, so I drew my camera since it’s the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought with my own money. Looks like an indie game illustration. I agree, switching to digital is frustrating. There's a lot more for us traditional artists to learn (and buttons to memorize!) than we expect when transitioning to digital.

Trevor L.
My sketchbook pages from the last week or so. I thought my Allen's Hummer reference photo looked familiar... apparently the photo I chose was taken by @Connor Cochrane.

SirVive
I haven't taken the time to do an art project in forever. I'm not much at starting from scratch but I can do ok starting with a basic line drawing. I figured the bird feeder I was wrapping for my daughter's birthday needed some special wrapping paper. One of these days I'll get around to posting a few of my woodburning projects I've done. Edited April 10, 2022 by SirVive
