Back Yard Bird Girl
Took my Sibley to work and went through every page. Think I found the new bird in the back yard. And now there are 2 of them. It is possibly the California Gnatcatcher. Still can't get a photo of them. If you have the book. page 338, bottom of the page, Although my guy has a full black head, but that was the closet I could find. Also have another small bird with a long tail, all brown. He flicks his tail a lot. Think its a Wren.
lonesome55dove
Your location would be helpful for possibly IDing the birds you've described. Thank you. ?
Melierax
How about Wrentit? If you do live in California those are fairly common. Also look up Bushtit.
akiley
California Gnatcatchers are pretty habitat-specific. Unlikely to be found in most Southern California yards.
