Help in Id a hawk in Pt Reyes

Wow. I guess you learn something every day. I was always under the impression that the gray vs. brown was a morph, not sex-related. I almost always see brown birds, so just assumed that was the dominant “morph.” But having said that, there is, I know, a dark morph version that is very rarely seen. So are there gray vs. brown morphs? No. But there is a dark morph. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks Blackburnian!  It turned out that he was sitting watching a mouse, allowing me to get his pic!  I thought he was looking at me but instead was watching the mouse that was near me.  When he flew towards me, I didn't react fast enough to change the settings on my camera so ended up with this photo:
