This may be the best thread for these events. 25 Anhingas in NEW YORK STATE this afternoon/evening! https://ebird.org/checklist/S134665047 is from the personal hotspot called Anhinga Insanity, Muck Rd (Rome), in Oneida County, New York. The state's new high count.

Also, this morning, there were 27 Anhingas (17 yesterday evening) at Wilde Lake, Columbia, Maryland, a 45 minute drive from my house. I couldn't make it up there until early afternoon, when I saw 2. I don't know where the other 25 had gone. I'm also not sure if this is a high count for Maryland or not.

Those Anhingas would be much better off going to California! our smelly homeless filled rent a closet for 1000$ a month cities are way better than in New York 🤮🤮

Flame-colored Tanager in Wisconsin!

There are at least 10 of us currently looking, with NO luck. It was seen
along the bluff behind the pond. Good luck!

there is a report of a female Flame-colored Tanager being reported at
Sheridan Park in Milwaukee. The eBird report has it listed as a Western
Tanager, but it's misidentified. If accepted, Wisconsin would be the only
other state outside of Texas and Arizona to have a record of this species,
at least what I'm seeing in eBird. Not even California has any records of

morning before I make the drive down for it.

Somebody in the family is going to Lubbock next week and I could go along and chase both but I don't think it is worth it to me.

BAT FALCON in Los Angeles!! Time will tell if the time and location is correct. 2nd US record if confirmed!!

"The LA rare bird alert groupchat is already aware of this record and is discussing it" according to a comment/reply on iNaturalist.

An amazing record if the location is correct! The time, as you indicate, seems rather off (the 5:12 a.m. time is about 50 minutes before local sunrise.)

🤯 So how/why was it credited to Culver City California?

It could be a historical (or maybe recent) Life List update that went wrong. I've seen plenty of reports like that. Somebody once reported all these northeastern seabirds from the middle of Vermont, with comments on all the birds listing their locations, in Maine.

I've seen that in eBird too.

It has been confirmed that this is a real and wild bird, flying free… in Brazil 😑.

What's the problem?  I'd rather go to Brazil to chase a lifer any day. :classic_cool:

It says the wagtail was found by Alex Henry, would that be you, @AlexHenry?

Yes! Haven’t been on the forum for a long time, sorry, been busy with work and was spending less time birding in winter and then been busy with birding in spring migration. The Red-throated Pipit was a life bird for me and the White Wagtail was the second I’ve ever seen, but I didn’t get them on the same checklist sadly.
