Link says checklist deleted by owner?

Likely made a temporary checklist to get the alert out. Then replaced it with a real checklist for the outing

I know the feeling. If you see it tomorrow, please, please pleeease tell it to stick until Thursday for me.

Well, the bird wasn’t seen after 4:45 yesterday and I wouldn’t be able to get there until 5:30 today. Due to that and the fact that it’s a 2 hour drive, I’m holding off today. If it’s seen today up until 5:30/6, then I’ll try to go tomorrow. However, apparently it is behaving somewhat like it’s on territory so I think there’s at least a decent chance of it sticking longer than most spring vagrants, especially since it’s in a random mountain canyon (versus a trap like most spring vagrants in SoCal are at).

There's currently a Yellow-headed Caracara in Los Angeles. Really curious as to the origin of this bird and how the CBRC will handle this record.

I don't see them accepting the record.

Dipped on it this evening…hoping it’ll stick until Saturday so I can try again at a better time of day

But, Provisional counts in eBird. So, probably worth a chase for anyone who cares about than sort of stuff. It would also be a total trip to see a Yellow-headed Caracara eating food scraps in the parking lot of  a Halal butcher shop/Popeyes in a suburban strip mall in LA.

Great Knot in Willapa Bay, WA this morning. Found by a couple people doing knot surveys from an airboat. Hopefully it gets refound later today when the tide comes in.

Common Swift in New Jersey!! https://ebird.org/checklist/S175110156

courtesy of https://www.aba.org/rare-bird-alert-may-17-2024/, which also mentions White-winged Tern in Michigan among other reports.

One of the checklists (https://ebird.org/checklist/S175138539) says in part "Upon getting the news we immediately abandoned our Sussex County (DE) big day and rushed to the ferry, where we talked our way onto the first departure." I know I would have done the same thing!

Looks like there was a Temminck's Stint in British Columbia a couple days ago.

I was looking at the list of sightings for the stint in Victoria and half of the birders in Vancouver must have also done the same!

And I can't see them 😭. They are in LSSI which is hard to get onto, and it will be August before I can even think about getting out there.

Oh no! That's really unfortunate. Here's hoping that another flamingo shows up near your home in a public area.
