cooper hawk killed a bird at my bird feeder

Recommended Posts

Yester day I saw a coopers hawk fly into the yard.  all the birds flew away instantly.  he landed on the fence, started to fly away and then took a uturn to the feeder.  hung onto the feeder for a second and then flew away with a bird in its talons.  5  minutes later it was back again in the tree looking for another victom.  it swooped into the neighbors yard.  This was exiting to see but sad for the bird....

yep, I realize I'm feeding all the birds now.  that's when I realized that the few drops of blood I saw on top of the feeder the other week was probably remnants of dinner time for the hawk also.  I think my dog would be safe though at about 18 pounds, he is a Parson Russell. The real Death from above.....

Your dog will be safe, Cooper's Hawks specialize in eating birds. :))
