Jodi Nielson
90% of the photos I take/post are taken on my street. I live in the county surrounded by woods and pastures. This is the first Red-headed Woodpecker I've ever seen out here. 4

sbutk
Male peregrine falcon at State Line Lookout in Palisades Interstate Park (NJ) yesterday, leaping from the branch he’d been perched on for the last 15 minutes. With my camera trained on him the entire time, I said there’s no way I’ll be missing this shot. Well, on account of foliage right beside the tree, unfortunately I wasn’t able to set the frame any further to the right - but then even so, the result would’ve been the same as many of the other posts in this thread. Thanks, whoever started this one, for giving us aspiring photographers to salvage a bit of “ALMOST got that perfect shot” from the jaws of defeat (i.e. the trash bin). And I’m sure it comes as a surprise to exactly NO ONE, here, but… Peregrines are quick! ? -Steve ***Wherever you are in the world, I wish my fellow birders (and EVERYONE) continued health and safety in this present time of uncertainty. Be well… *** Share photo: P1140640 2

Probably the best place in the state to take pictures of Peregrines though & a couple years ago there was a Gyrfalcon there as well. I've seen some great shots from there. I know very well that we all have our own personal limitations, so we just do the best we can, for the love of this hobby. PaulK
Had a Ruby-crowned Kinglet SIT STILL on a branch flashing his crest at me this morning, 8 feet away, unobstructed. Except for the heavy downpour that fogged up my lens. 1

GracesWarbler
Here's one of a Great Egret. It's slightly out of focus, and it has some strange muscles showing along the edge of its wing. Is that a wound, or just something that's normally covered by feathers?
