Warbler sp. About the coloring of a female HOFI - maybe a tad more yellow/buffy than just brown and fainter streaking. A distinctive yellow rump only exposed in flight and an eye mask that reminded me of a Cedar Waxwing

Maybe - probably is the most likely but I see lots of YRWA at home and I saw a half dozen here a couple of days ago that I didn't hesitate to id as such so not sure why this one stood out to me as something different.

Maybe you're used to Audubon's subspecies from back home? Maybe you were seeing all males but this one was a female? Or something like that
