photog46
I saw this bird in Botswana in the Kalahari Desert in early June. I thought maybe a female red-billed or red-headed quelea or some sort of weaver, but I would appreciate any thoughts anyone has on identification. Thank you! AlexHenry
Bill is too slight for a Quelea. It is some sort of Weaver, but there are many options.... South-central Africa is amazing for wildlife viewing. My brother used to live in Lusaka, Zambia, and I got to go visit him for a couple weeks once - amazing place, nice laid back people, travel was cheap, weather was good, though I did have gastrointestinal troubles after eating some of the local cuisine
NamBird
Jumping into the threat after a long time. This is a female/non-breeding Southern Masked Weaver
